Amazing! You look fantastic! I'm sure you feel as great as you look. Glad to hear you are dealing with the emotional issues. I am so afraid of that. I don't even know where to start.

Congratulations!!!!

I didn't know where to start either. I'm working with a therapist who recommended the book "When food Is Love". Just reading the title I didn't think it would apply to me, but just after reading the first few sentences of the book I knew it would be pivotal in my journey. I definitely HIGHLY recommend it.

Hi Livvsmum. I just read your entire blog. It is so inspiring. It was really great to see the good times and the bad times and how you got through them all. Thanks for the "real" experiences you shared. I am just starting this journey and have put it off for so many years. I'll revisit your blog again as I progress, for inspiration.

Thank you! It's really humbling to hear that people are taking the time to read it and that I am having a positive impact on someone I don't even know. :-) That is awesome! I try to put in the good, the awesome, the bad, and the very ugly :-)

Lol! When I was a skinny teen I was so embarrassed by my prominent collarbones! What I wouldn't give to see them again! :)

You are truly an inspiration and a testament to the fact that if you do the work, it will work!!! Thank you for the book recommendation your therapist shared. I am sure that will be a useful tool in my arsenal as I begin my journey. As will your blog...I'm headed there now! :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
