ShelleyHolt 5 Posted June 16, 2014 I just got my date today, it's June 16th. That's just 3 short days away and I'm absolutely scared to death! My anxiety is ridiculous right now and my nerves are shot! 1 cryss reacted to this
jdillon 355 Posted June 16, 2014 Ahhhhhhhh don't be scared. It's going to be OK. I have about a month to go and I can imagine the feelings you're having. Just think it will be over soon and you can get that first uncomfortable adjusting month out of the way and before you know it you'll be posting YouTube videos and before and after shots and looking fabulous! 1 ShelleyHolt reacted to this
ShelleyHolt 5 Posted June 16, 2014 I hope the 1st month goes by quickly! I believe most of my fear is about how I'm going to feel afterwards, like right afterwards and not being able to tolerate anything. And the hair loss!!!!! My hair is thin to begin with, I can't afford to lose any! Lol

cryss 96 Posted June 16, 2014 Hang in there! Breath in as you acknowledge the fear.... then breath out with the knowledge that this will pass and you, along with thousands before, are on your way to a transformed new life; honor this tool, and handle it with reverence, and it will serve you greatly! 2 ShelleyHolt and karen44 reacted to this

JCP 619 Posted June 17, 2014 I think you'd be crazy not to be scared, or at least apprehensive! This is major surgery and a huge lifestyle change! But you decided this for a reason. You are doing a very brave thing. So believe in yourself! Think of where you will be a year from now! God bless! 1 ShelleyHolt reacted to this
lyloo 1 Posted June 17, 2014 I just had my surgery this morning. I was terrified to say the least. Just try to relax. I tried to go without the heavy duty pain meds except for right after surgery. I just called my nurse and asked for some. I feel so much better. Good luck and remember to walk so that horrible gas will clear. 1 ShelleyHolt reacted to this

Cryss, I absolutely love your advice! It sheds a new light. Thank you, you're so right, I AM beginning a new journey to a happier, healthier me and it's time I embrace it instead of fear it! ShelleyHolt 5 Posted June 21, 2014 Well, I had my surgery on the 19th and I have to admit that I'm struggling getting in the fluids and the pain from the gas plus the pain of surgery alone is awful! I just had 2 tbs of strained cream of chicken and I tolerated it well, so well that I'd like to have more but I don't want to test my sleeve. I'm kinda down right now bc I'm hurting and bloated and I really want something to eat! I'd love love love to have a turkey burger! I have 2 weeks of this full liquids stage, then on to pureed and baby foods for 2 weeks before I can even begin to introduce regular foods! I feel like I'll starve before then!
