No that is not slow. And it wouldn't matter if it was. Don't compare yourself to others, everyone loses differently. If you would like to lose faster, take a look at your food composition. Some people are insulin resistant, especially early out when they are heavier. You may want to drop carbs below 50 grams a day (no more than 20 grams in a meal) to see better results. Many people drop to under 20 grams of carbs a day for best results. Ketogenic diets are very effective.

I am insulin resistant from PCOS. The carbs is a good I idea. I'm going to pay more attention to that.

I am also losing "slow"....or what I think is slow. I finally decided that this weight will come off when it comes off! I am NOT going to be a slave to that stupid scale to give me validation and I am NOT going to have such high expectations that I sabotage myself. It is what it is. THis is a journey in which I have no idea when I will get to the end of the first leg (goal weight). At this point any weight loss is fabulous right? We weren't able to do it before our little friend :-)

Keep up the good work!!!

It doesn't strike me as slow, but I'm not buying the comparisons. We all started at different places w/ our own body hormones, etc. It was interesting what the commentator brought up about Ketogenic diets. I've been avoiding carbs (bread is easy to avoid for me, Pasta is a different story) and I think that may help some. I miss Pasta and I'm waiting for the lack of it to be a habit as they say - it's been over three weeks. :)

I have the most boring diet, deli meat and cheese. I've tried other stuff and it hurts, but I will say when that happens, I go for another walk and it really helps.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
