motocrash 4 Posted June 16, 2014 Hi experts- Here is my question - how fast can you drink Water? I was out for a motorcycle ride, and it sure is nice. I am sweating up a storm. I stop frequently for a drink to stay hydrated. How will this work after sleeve? I realize that there is no gulping, guzzling, chugging, but how long to drink a 12 oz Water? Can I drink faster that I can loose it? I sweat lots on the bike, and it is not really ideal to drink while riding. Some do use camelback bladders, but with a no straw rule I don't know that I can do that either. I do long rides, and don't know that I can afford to take 30 min stops every hour. How long does it take to "sip" an entire bottle of water once you are a healed up sleeve back in your normal life?
Recycled 2,182 Posted June 16, 2014 For long rides, go with the camelbak. Straws draw in air with every sip. Camelbaks do not. The whole gulping thing will subside with time. You may not fit as much at one chug as before, but liquids pass thru pretty fast so you can take chugs often and stay hydrated. I do however, take an insulated Water bottle EVERYWHERE with me. motocrash 4 Posted June 16, 2014 Thanks, that's what I wanted to hear. I just do yard work, or get in and out of a hot car, and sweat like crazy. Presently it is pretty easy to keep up with that loss. After I just need to be aware of it and plan to always have a liquid with me. 1 Recycled reacted to this
msfitn2014 248 Posted June 16, 2014 OMG for me its a struggle, it takes me about an hr to drink 12 oz of gatorade g2, shakes, juice or crystal light. Im soooooooo full from drinking too and if its Water which i hate drinking it takes me even longer to drink 1-2 hrs to drink 12 oz.

Sunnybaby 95 Posted June 16, 2014 I can drink 84+ oz of Water in a day after my sleeve. I drink until I feel my tummy get full/tight and then I stop for 10-15 mins or so then have at it again.
NMJG 1,266 Posted June 16, 2014 A lot of people are different. Some have a lot of trouble getting fluids down, especially at first, and some don't. I believe that after 6 months most of the issues subside for most people, but you could be one of the unlucky ones. I started using a straw again after 3 months. No trouble with it and I don't have air issues with a straw.
