B-100 complex will give you alot of energy..if you can not take pills get it in liquid form. I swear by it! Also up your protien intake, this too will help with energy.

Hi Chickie,

I tried that link in your signature but it doesn't work to get me to your journal. I'd love to read about your journey, though.

Thanks!

I second this.

Do you possibly have sleep apnea? I've been pooped for about a year now and the doc said that was why...I never get any quality sleep and I am oxygen deprived at night. Weekend comes and I just hit the couch and nap nap nap....I was just put on a CPAP machine this week.

Are you getting enough Protein -- considering bumping it - if you get 60 try 80, if you get 80 try 100 -- so forth.

I take Centrum performance in the morning - and flintstone in the evening. My doctor recommended daily multi Vitamn 2x day.

I agree you need to have your blood checked to see if you need Iron or something else.

B-complex does well as suggest here as well. They say B--12 is like a shot of energy!

Best of luck getting thru this quickly.

Gina

I love those sublingual B-12 tablets...they disolve right into your blood stream. And I totally second an Iron supplement. I was severely anemic and my doc gave me RX Iron called Niferex. It's great.

When was the last time you had a physical with blood work? Your tiredness could be from a number of things... anemia, Iron deficiency anemia, hypoglycemia, sleep apnea, perimenopause, etc. My advice is to see your MD to get some concrete answers and a treatment plan to help.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
