I'm 11 weeks and 34 pounds down. I've had two frustrating stalls and gone up a few pounds then dropped them. I don't really exercise yet but I do increase Protein and Water as well as some calories when I stall which helps. I try and vary my calories a little so my body is not thinking it is always starving. It is slow progress but then I'm down in clothes and feeling great! Our journeys will all differ, don't panic or lose hope, just keep chugging along.

I'm also 11 weeks out. I'm 5'1 and my BMI was about 36-37 with mild sleep apnea. My nurse practitioner and NUT told me to try to gain some weight during my six month approval time. My pre op after five day liquid diet was 198.

I'm happy to say I'm down 37 lbs. my surgeon says I'm half way to his goal of 70 lbs total weight loss. I haven't exercised much either. I'm trying to fix that.

All in all I'm thrilled with my life. I'm able to work 12 hours shifts on my feet, tie my shoes and cross my legs. Life is goood!!!

I'm 8 weeks out and down 37 lbs... 57 all together! I had one very frustrating three week stall but it helped knowing everyone goes through it!! Good luck to you all and keep the faith!! You will be a loser!! Haha 14 more pounds to onederland!!

I am six weeks out. Started with a BMI of 40 and have lost 21 lbs. it's slow and in my second stall BUT my measurements are dropping drastically already. People at work are already commenting about me shrinking!

I started out with a BMI of 37 with some comorbidities. Was taking 7 different medications. Was sleeved on December 13th. Six months later I am down 88 pounds since surgery and 96 all out. No longer take any medications. BMI is at 24 now.

I don't know if I'm losing less weight with a lower BMI - I don't really think so. No, I'm not losing 60 pounds in a month b/c frankly, I'd be done w/ the process. I just decided to no longer post those stats after talking to my PA. Does more harm than good per my PA and I saw my PA's point.

Something I did have to do was wear weights when being weighed and we lessened my height by a few inches. I was not willing to gain weight (I too was told such nonsense). I know some will find this troubling and I'm not an advocate of it but that made it so my other issues and "obesity" would allow surgery. I'm not a young woman, I knew I needed help. I have no idea what my real BMI was but it was not high enough without help. I think insurance companies cause this ridiculousness. I no longer take several meds.

I actually lost weight running around wearing weights all over my body for weigh-ins. Ha!

If you disagree, I understand. I do not need to hear about it though. What's done is done and I don't do internet flaming.

12 hour shifts on your feet is kind of a work out I'd say. My job is sedentary, I have to work out even before all of this or I felt yucky.

Can you elaborate on this? I am curious as to what the harm is/would be.

The comparisons are ridiculous (strangers with who knows what issues) yet people drive themselves nuts over them.

This is of course only my opinion and not all people do this. It's why I made the decision for me. It's that simple.

I'm 7 weeks out of surgery and doing great. I hope you all are as well. I'm certainly not going crazy trying to keep up with others - I'm just enjoying the ride. 43lb down since June 5th (when I started Opti) and 26lb down since June 26th (surgery date).

      Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
      What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
