You finally hit your goal and then what?

Recommended Posts

I am proud to say that I am at my goal weight of 155. I started at 267 and have lost a total of 112. I just didn't think how my body would look like after I lost so much weight. I look great with clothes on but I still have my insecurities. I honestly thought that if I just lose this amount of weight I will be ok, well I've lost that amount and now don't know what to do with myself lol. Does anyone else feel like this? Will we ever be truly comfortable with our bodies? I do workout and trying to tone up, but no amount of working out will fix my lose skin. I know I could do a Tummy Tuck but I have other things to spend my money on and they call me mommy lol. Ok rant/ vent is over. Thank you for listening. I guess I just want to know that I am not alone.

Your not alone. When I hit goal I felt the same way. I am now trying to figure out a good approach to maintenance. I have been in maintenance for 7 months and it has been challenging. Figuring out the right calories, what foods work for me and what doesn't, especially in maintenance you have more foods to choose from than the weight loss phase. Also, I am still working on accepting my new body with the loose skin and flaws. I cannot do plastics either, so I am working with what I have. I am getting more confident and feeling a lot better because I have come along way. It gets better and you will find your way. This process will be lifelong. Congratulations on reaching goal now on to maintenance.

You are definitely not alone. I'm right there with ya! The trouble with losing all this weight is, I'm still me on the inside. But I've decided I'd rather be slim with loose skin than fat with tight skin and no wrinkles.

I've just been conditioned for too long to not be happy with who I am. But I've noticed that no one is ever satisfied with how they look, to the delight of diet/beauty product/clothing marketers everywhere!

Thank you for taking the time to reply. It's nice to hear that it's normal.

enterring sleeveland, people will lose weight with continued hard work :)

happy for you that you have achieved goal :)

I "think" unfortunately some people might think life will be one "smooth ride" now they have lost lots of weight <_<

success "mentally" doesn't happen overnight

just like being overweight didn't happen overnight!!!

you need to work on your "inner self/ situations"

this takes time!!!

but looking into your lovely face and beautiful eyes, i know you will be another success story :)

my hearing isn't always the best :(

did you say you lost 112 lbs????

you did, you did say 112 lbs!!!! :)

you are aces!!!!

continue doing everything you learned through the process for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life :)

keep up the good work (i know you will ;))

kathy

congrats

No...you're not alone. I hit 'goal' in March and haven't changed anything. I've dropped another 11 lbs. but don't expect to lose much more...especially since I also have alot of loose skin. I'll probably have plastic surgery in the future but for now, I have to deal with what is....and what is is that I look much better in clothes than out of them. But as another poster said, better to be smaller with loose skin than heavier with no loose skin. It is what it is I guess and I'll do the best I can till I can get some surgery. First on my list is to get rid of the turkey neck.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
