TonyaNKy 79 Posted June 14, 2014 I have seen a lot of people having to have their gallbladders removed after surgery. This would be unnecessary had their surgeons put them on Actigall. Actigall is a medication to prevent gallbladder problems post-op. I am shocked by how many surgeons don't put their patients on this medication. If your surgeon has not mentioned Actigall, then ask him about it. BE YOUR OWN ADVOCATE!!! 1 Jamie Harris reacted to this

My program won't put someone on it long term unless you have a risk for it to come out.
knitlil09 91 Posted June 16, 2014 My surgeon has his patients on it for a year post op when they are losing the bulk if their weight. I think it's a smart idea.
TonyaNKy 79 Posted June 16, 2014 Rapid weight loss increases the risk significantly. Gallbladder problems are horribly painful and the surgery is misery. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
