daw3378 93 Posted June 13, 2014 I force myself to get up move around go for walks. Sip my Water, but I could seriously sleep non stop. I'm 4 days post op, and I'm hardly using the pain meds so it's not that, I might take one time a day if that. How long. Did you feel this way?
Dondie Olivia 56 Posted June 13, 2014 Go to bed and get some sleep. You are recovering from surgery. You will heal faster. Walk when you are awake. Do not deny your body what it needs right now. You'll feel better faster.
BSU 61 Posted June 13, 2014 I slept a lot at first as well. Your energy will come back.
Butterflyhigh 504 Posted June 13, 2014 I am 5 days post-op and just woke up from a three hour nap! The first two days I hardly did anything except sleep. I've been much more awake for the next three but have taken nap each day. Right now all I am doing is measuring fluids, sipping fluids, taking it easy, and measuring and sipping more fluids. I noticed more energy after I focused on getting in more warm chicken broth. It gets better every day. Your body does a lot of healing while asleep. Listen to what it's telling you to do, but don't neglect the hydration.
daw3378 93 Posted June 14, 2014 That makes me feel a little better I'm not the only one. I'm up to walks 2 or 3 times a day around the block
ForGracieGirl 8 Posted June 14, 2014 how are you making out? I wish I could sleep. Generally, I can sleep without a problem, but since surgery 6/10 I'm not sleeping at all. I wish you all the best
knitlil09 91 Posted June 14, 2014 I'm sleeping a lot also. It's natural, your body is recovering from a major surgery. You will heal better if you listen to what your body wants. I've been sleeping about 9 hours at night and taking 2-3 hour naps every day.
