maizeashley 12 Posted June 13, 2014 My husband got his gastric bypass surgery on may 29th and was doing really well until we got home. Now he has a lot of pain on his left side under his belly button. He can't sit to long or walk. He is still on strong pain meds. Any advice? Doctor said its his abdominal wall because it was decently large and time helps but he has about one more week to get back to work which is a mildly physical job. Any advice? Chelly 364 Posted June 14, 2014 You said his job is slightly physical. I sure he knows he can't lift anything at all above five lbs. He also can't drive if he is still on pain meds. I hope he feels better if not stay home longer from work until he does.

latido 178 Posted June 30, 2014 My left side is where the doctor did the most work. It is agony. I have been clutching a pillow to my tummy since the surgery 4 days ago. It better let up because eventually I need to be able to move around and care for my needs! I tried an abdominal binder from the pharmacy today. It worked very well. I removed it after several hours.
