Pre-op face-stuffing food funeral

Recommended Posts

What the heck is wrong with me? I lose almost 20 lbs pre-op, have a final weigh-in on Monday, and I just sat down for my first facestuffing contest with chips, licorice, and soda? Who is this person? I've been going so strong for a month now!

JITTERSSSSSSSSS

Don't be too hard on yourself. A lot of us have done the same thing!

Don't worry I did it to. I will this weekend too. I have lost 23 pounds. Every time I do it I feel like I am sabotaging myself. My pre-op diet starts next Tuesday, I figure if I gain anything I will lose it during that week. I haven't been weighed at the doctors office since April. I am pretty sure I will be weighed at my pre-op on the 19th.

Nothing is wrong with you! As soon as I got my date, I literally planned a food funeral! My coworkers cooked and brought in all of my favorites and we had a great time with it! Doing so accomplished two things...1) it let everyone that I work with know that my process had begun and after the food funeral I would need their support in my efforts to be healthy. 2) it let me mentally and physically put to rest all of the foods that helped me get into the situation that I am in (morbid obesity). Not to say temptation won't come, but having the formality of it really helped me. And oddly enough, I couldn't eat nearly as much as I would have liked to!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
