Anyone have a recommended doctor in the Tampa area? I seem to be running into problems trying to find one (a well rated doc) that isn't over in the St Pete area. I'm in the very beginning/research stage of things! ☺️

Try Dr. Lee Grossbard. He is well known and has been doing weight control surgeries for many years. He along with several in his office have the lap-band so they are walking proof of positive results. I am scheduled for surgery with him on 6/27 and so far I have been very please with his knowledge, information and experience.

Good luck

I also am with Suncoast Bariatrics and I cannot express how satisfied I am with them. They are fully involved with the whole process and provide everything you will need to be successful.

Dr. Tiffany Jessee at Suncoast Bariatrics is the best. She's located right off of 275 at Ulmerton. My husband and i both got lap bands from her.

I am with Dr. Jesse and Dr. Ache and they are worth the drive from anywhere. Totally involved and caring and amazing . I am getting sleeved on August 27... And although I live in Tampa ... It is only about 15 minutes from me.

I am having my surgery in Sarasota on October 29th. That is only 45 minutes/1 hour from Tampa. The Sarasota Memorial Comprehensive Bariatric Program is amazing. My surgeon is Dr. Nora. The entire group at the program has been so supportive.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
