I had surgery on June 2. I have so much pain. It's all digestive. There is so much cramping. I have diarrhea, but it feels like constipation! Ugh! Anyone else out there with similar issues?

I go tomorrow to see surgeon. I thought this was all normal, so I didn't even call until yesterday. The nurse seems concerned. She was.going to have me come in today for tests, but the scheduler told her to just keep my appt. Im not vomiting and don't have a fever so the nurse was ok with waiting the extra day.

I am on full liquids. I don't feel like eating for drinking much of anything though! I have to choke down shakes. I have a hard time drinking even close to the amount I'm suppose to. 4 days ago I was thinking I could eat something, now I feel nauseous at the smell of food.

I'm scared! I hear so many horror stories and I honestly thought I would be fine! God I hope I don't have a leak!!!! I'm so scared! Before I had surgery I was so excited and really wish I would have listened to my friends and family who thought this was a bad idea!

Speaking as one of the horror stories does it help when I tell you GET THE SURGERY!

I'd have people lined up 6 days a week if I could put them through it. Diabetes first, then any one with sleep apnea, high blood pressure that's overweight ...

Look gang a problem is a problem. I'm at least enjoying being thin. I have memories that I wouldn't have had without the surgery.

I know! By food, I mean different flavors of cream Soups, cottage cheese, yogurt, and mashed potatoes. I usually feel fine, but I think I'm pushing it sometimes. My doc says introduce soft chopped at 4 weeks. I wouldnt even know where to begin!!

Have you considered food intolerances? Have you been examined physically to make sure all is fine?

I had very painful cramps around 2nd & 3rd week post op ..it seem like one day my stomach would be angry and cramp from anything ..i thought i was starting to have a complication but it went away ..i think it was just part of the healing process

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
