June 24th surgery!

Recommended Posts

I am excited about my upcoming surgery! I am on day two pre-op liquid diet. I am allergic to artificial sweeteners so I gave had to search for products with stevia and found a lot! So if anyone is also in the same boat let me know!

Mine is June 24th too! Luckily, I can eat meat/veggies for dinners so I'm not on an all liquid diet, thank goodness! Good luck to you!

Congratulations to you as well! We can help each other through this process! I am doing okay on the liquid diet. It is not so bad. I am able to drink broth, crystal light (with natural sweeteners) and make my shakes. I am using designer whey in double chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. I also got unsweetened cocoa powder to my shakes and vanilla extract and they are pretty good.

Hi I'm having surgery tomorrow too! I did okay preop - 1 week liquids only but would be interested to know what you found with stevia. I'm feeling aspartame overload! Good luck tomorrow!

Here we go Nina51! Tomorrow is our day! I found designer whey with stevia, it is only 100 calories and it comes in chocolate , vanilla, vanilla almond, and strawberry.

I also LOVE core power light which is only 150 calories and has stevia. It comes in strawberry-banana and chocolate. I am excited and nervous about tomorrow. I go in tomorrow at 6am! I will be praying for you !

Hi all! I've also had my surgery on June 24!

How are you all feeling? I'm still feeling some pain where my removed stomach was. Are you still experiencing pain?

Hi there June 24th sleevers! Hope everyone is doing great. I'm the same as md78 and have pain on my left side. I also had hiatal hernia and gallbladder, so they told me it will take a little longer. Today I think my hormones have kicked in and I'm super emotional. I don't like this,, I've been so positive all through this and now down. I didn't expect it to hit this soon :). I need to focus on the future positives. Stay positive and happy :).

Nina51, the pain killers also cause some emotions too. I'm already an emotional person, so not sure if it's just me or the pain killers...lol.

One of my friends was visiting me the other day and suggested those corsets that women wear after c-sections. I bought one, and it does wonders for the pain! Here's a link to it:

Comes in different sizes. I got the large.

I'm a june 24th sleever as well and I was very emotional today. I think my cycle is coming which is so weird bc I just had it a week before the surgery and I'm on birth control. Looks like the hormones are about to go out of whack!!!

June 24 as well.

Just started mushy foods today

Stopped pain meds on Saturday.

Still mild cramping occasionally especially in morning when I wake up. But grinning and bearing it ! It's mild.

Have lost 8 pounds since surgery.

Very happy so far

This is also a good article about the typical stages of pain and healing happens at different stages. It's explained a lot to me. Hope this helps!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
