I am right there with ya! I have found myself craving salad (of all things). Just trying to get those thoughts out of my head. We can do this!

no tips other than to drink hot tea and gulp water-that will be the last time you will gulp Water. I slammed it all day before surgery and I still battle post-op with taking too big of a sip and having to hold it in my mouth and slowly swallow it.

It's rough but you will get through it. Take it one day at a time and know that hot liquids fill your stomach better than cold.

My only advice is to stay busy. I planned busy days for myself so I wouldn't have as much time to think about how much I hated it. I organized/cleaned, took my kiddos to park literally anything I could think of. Will also tell u that going to store-even Walmart is difficult...try to avoid if possible.

It will pass! You can do this!

me too. doing good but it's terrible.

i'm actually lucky because i can have SF pudding,Jello, yogurt, and raw veg...plus i confirmed today that GUACAMOLE is considered raw veg with my doc...so it's my best friend today!

i know that this is ALL about shrinking the liver, but i can't believe that we have to go from eating the things we were, to eating 'liquids'. uggg!

two weeks of time put in to hopefully add decades to my life, i will survive. good luck!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
