louise162 0 Posted April 19, 2007 Would it be possible to add the verification of a valid email address to the registration process on LBT; like an activation step? As the spam thread posters are banned after a single post surely they'd run out valid email addresses? I know someone can have multiple hotmail addresses but they are a pain to set up so I'm sure this would have an impact on the number of spam threads. Just a thought! Alexandra 55 Posted April 19, 2007 That's a good suggestion, Louise. Thanks! I'm sure Alex will see this and take it under consideration.

waterlily1072 5 Posted April 19, 2007 Sadly I am a moderator on a website that does have an e-mail verification step in the create an account procedure and we too lately have been inundated with spam and it's getting really old. We have started banning certain IP's, not sure if it will help yet. I think the big spammers are on a campaign or something.

This feature was removed because some users weren't receiving the confirmation emails. I've added it again and let's see how it goes. Thanks for the suggestion!
