mamie60 104 Posted September 10, 2014 I am 2 months out and have never vomited or dumped. Just lucky I think.
terry1118 1,274 Posted September 10, 2014 Literally ate 4 grapes and "dumped" for 2 hours. My body rejects cheese but not really dumping. I'm very sensitive to sugar and even meats started tasting sweet for a couple of weeks. I stay on a very low sugar intake diet now. I've heard grapes were a no-no because they contain a lot of sugar. Also, it seems to be common for RNYer's to become lactose intolerant - maybe that's why cheese is bothering you? I'm watching my sugar intake much more carefully, now, after my lapse resulted in dumping. :-)
Bryan Graeve 50 Posted September 14, 2014 I dumped on kettle cooked potato chips. It was a lesson for me to stick with the plan
Truckerchic 171 Posted September 14, 2014 Don't know if I'm lucky or cursed but nothing makes me dump not sugar, fat carbs or grease.. 10 months out I can eat anything which I was hoping would not happen I wanted to dump when I had those weak moments and turned to old habits, at this point I almost feels like I never had surgery and I still struggle everyday with my food demons ???? Truckerchic 171 Posted September 22, 2014 Don't rush to many foods, can you do eggs, cheese or yogurts... you may have to give chicken a break and try again in a few weeks
Lost1 27 Posted October 12, 2014 I think from reading everyone's responses that dumping can sometimes be different for everyone. Which makes me nervous. I wish there was a list of foods that they could give you to avoid that worked for everyone.

I know my program stressed avoiding fats, sugars and carbs. Other than an early issue with ketchup I've had no other issues as I've followed those suggestions religiously. Some day i may get brave and try some fruits or other natural sugar foods but i know I'll avoid those fats and simple carbs as long as humanly possible. Don't let all our our stories worry you. You'll find some things that don't work and hopefully many more that do. I'd recommend trying new potentially risky things when you know you'll be home though just in case. redwings fan 16 Posted October 27, 2014 I dumped on hot chocolate. Got it from the concession stand at my son's football game. Must have had too much sugar. I will never make that mistake again!!!
