Yes it is sad. I'm down 92 pounds. Having some difficulty adjusting to my new body. I still see myself as much larger that I actually am. I'm swimming laps for an hour almost every day. Plus other exercises. Still mostly soft food. meat here and there. I'm a very cheap date! Lol!!

That's awesome for the weight lost. I can't swim yet. I stay in 5ft during the class lol. It's good to know this site isn't going to waste. At least 2 people are on it lol. Happy 4th.

I hope you had a great 4th! I went to a party and the hostess had a difficult time understanding why I only ate 2-3 bites. So did some other folks. This is becoming a constant issue. Especially in going out to restaurants. Can be awkward at times.

I went to the beach for the 4th. It was crowded but relaxing. It's very difficult when you go out to eat. When people see that you've lost a lot of weight they pay attention to everything you eat or they think you don't like there food lol. You just can't win. I'm in Florida so I always say, it's so hot outside I've lost my appetite. Most people will look at me and say I understand.

I'm on Cape Cod. During the day that tact could work but not in the evening. People try to push food and I just can't eat it. No room in my sleeve. Still have weight to drop! Lol!!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
