The dreaded stall -_-

Recommended Posts

Feel like I'm losing my damn mind! Rny may 21 lost 20 pounds and then bam hit a stall. I haven't lost in 2 weeks! I actually go up and down the same 2 pounds. It's starting to mess with my head. I told all my friends I had this surgery, I did the same when I was banded and it helped keep me motivated to lose.. I need that push. It's embarrassing though when they ask how much did you lose this week lol I'm like arrrrghhh haha it's crazy how my mind thinks well this is it, you aren't going to lose anymore.. I am eating under 600 calories, 65 grams of Protein, 64 + ounces of Water, no sugar, low carb and low fat and I'm walking every day so I know I'm doing all the right things now my body just has to catch up. How are all of you doing??

I am 7 weeks out and I haven't had any stalls. My surgeon started me on solids on day 10, so I did not have the initial big weight drop I see with people whos are on liquid diet 2 weeks pre-op (I had no pre-op diet), and 2-3-4 weeks after the surgery. So my weight loss was not drastic and it is still on the slower side but I am happy as I am losing constantly.

I think lots of people stall when they transition from liquid to pureed and then from pureed to solids. Not much you can do, follow your plan, and it will come off.

We have to take the long view. Stalls end sometime, right? I had my surgery May 5th and the first month I lost 21 pounds. I haven't lost anything since then. I am following my plan very closely, drinking Water, walking. I don't weigh myself every day any more!

Save exact as me. The first two weeks I lost 24 lbs. I'm going into my second week and I'm stuck. Wobbling back and forth between two pounds. So frustrating

Same here. Had surgery 6/4, lost 13 lbs first 2 weeks, hit a stall week 3, now just coming out of it (I hope!). Total of 19 lbs lost including preop diet. You are not alone!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
