Healthy_life2 8,324 Posted June 9, 2014 Hi My name is Cynthia, had my surgery(sleeve) done 6/2/14, my weight day of surgery was 264 and as of today 7 days out I'm at 260, I feel like I'm not losing like I should. Anyone having this problem? Hi LadyC, We have the same surgery date. I'm sorry your feeling down. I was too earlier..when I stood on my home scale and it was not moving. I went to a Dr.s Appointment I stood on their scale and I'm down 10 pounds (my home scale is a lair!) From that I have learned to stay away from the scale... You have not gained. Way to go! BetterthanCake 4 Posted June 9, 2014 Embrace and rejoice that you made the best decision of your life! Relax and don't worry so much about the scale...it will make you crazy! Just follow the doctor prescribed menu and remember this is not a sprint...Congratulations! 1 lialove reacted to this
Bufflehead 6,358 Posted June 9, 2014 For most of us it takes a week - 10 days for all the IV Fluid from surgery to clear out. All that Water weight makes the scale a liar! Besides, 4 pounds in 7 days is FANTASTIC. Seriously, don't expect to lose 4 lbs every week. In my opinion you'll be a lot more confident and at peace if you weigh yourself every couple of weeks or less and try to ease up on some of the expectations. 2 lialove and rome reacted to this

Fullofitx3 146 Posted June 10, 2014 It gets better everyday, I know it's difficult but try not to be too concerned with the scale, follow your drs plan and you'll do great. Best of luck to you.
rome 156 Posted June 10, 2014 I'm with you...feeling a little down. However, I looked at the calendar and realize it has only been 3 weeks since I had major surgery!! Our bodies need time to heal, readjust, along with our mind and expectations. Like you I think I should be losing handfuls daily! This is a journey. We need to trust the process and embrace every pound lost no matter how small. Like some of the posts I've decided to put the scale away. Step on it once a week for awhile. D the scale for me has dictated my success and failure in the past. Not this time! Hang in there we will succeed little by little, day by day!
