HOw is everybody doing ? I'm able to eat more foods now and glad to not have to rely on shakes n yogurt for every meal. Constipation is still a problem, but trying to find a balance in my diet. I have been taking some bites( literally one or two bites) of "no no foods" but haven't lost control. I've hit the first stall week 4, which was expected. Still feel fat but jeans are loose. I've started doing aqua aerobics which I really enjoy. Still waiting to feel pretty.....

I feel great I got my done on may 3rd! I'm still doing the pureed good and minimum solid food I feel scared of eating solid food, I feel I will over eat! 1 more week and I'm going back to the gym. For now I'm walking every day or bicycling. I have lost 31lbs so far but I have been stuck for a week now, it's driving me crazy!

I was scared of eating other food too but the boredom won out. I have moved myself out of soft foods and have done ok. I'm not eating anything drastic just soft chicken and veggies, but my taste buds are soooo greatful! Congrats in walking everyday as it helps start a healthy new habit. I highly recommend any exercise in the Water because it's very soothing and low impact. Congrats on you weight loss! Keep it up and don't get discouraged by the stall, better yet expect them and keep pushing forward. :)

I was also sleeved on the 5th and I'm doing well. I was back in the Water at week 3 and am now back to the Y about 4 times a week and trying to walk the track at the school by my house. Getting the water in is tough, I keep trying different crystal light flavors and always have to use lemon or lime to gag it down. I've been on solid foods for about a week now and it's ok. I just have to eat real slow and chew real good. The hard part is when my mouth is not ready to be done with the taste, but my stomach says NO WAY! I've only thrown up 3 times during this whole time and usually it's because I have consumed medication and food too close together. I have steadily lost with no stalls yet and am down 38lbs as of today. That part feels great, but I would definitely argue with those who declare this procedure to be cheating. I actually think it's harder than I anticipated, but I'm keeping my "eyes on the prise"!

May 5th sleever here! I am on solid foods, but still get full super fast! I get pain in my left shoulder if I eat too much and very gassy and a twinge of pain in my chest and stomach area. I am getting in two Protein Shakes and about 2 meals a day. A meal is not much, but something. Having a hard time getting all my Water in. Constipation is an issue so I have started using Miralax. I am down 35 total (12 lost pre-surgery) and am on my 2nd stall. My current stall has lasted two weeks so I am BEYOND frustrated! I am working out 5 days a week and taking in 500 or less calories a day. What gives?!?!?!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
