kissawookiee 2 Posted July 20, 2014 (edited) Who's having surgery this week? Mine is on Wednesday in TJ at the OCC. I'm so ready to get it over with. Has anyone else been asked to do lung exercises the week before with a spirometer? Just wondering. I'm this Wed too, but here in TX. Tomorrow I start the full Clear Liquids for 2 days, after being on "regular" liquids the last 11 days. Nervous, excited, ready to be on the other side! I don't have to do any lung exercises pre-op. I am so encouraged by all the other sleevers out there. Congrats to all the July sleevers and good luck I'm scheduled for the 29...good luck to you!
alwaysvegas 702 Posted July 20, 2014 (edited) 23 lbs is wonderful! Do you know how much of your loss was preop and how much is post? I'm wondering what the average weekly loss is post op(although I know everyone is different) My nutritionist said to expect to lose 75% of your excess weight within a year. This means that if you are 100lbs overweight, then you should expect to lose 75 lbs over the first year. Then just divide that out by 52 weeks. In this case, 75lbs divided by 52 weeks is about 1.5 lbs a week. This can very depending on proper diet and exercise, of course. Lady Rock 25 Posted July 20, 2014 Good Morning SD Kelly, I agree everything is moving so fast, I do know that I am ready for the surgery , but I am putting my list together of things to do after surgery, what Vitamins and supplements to get, what Protein Shakes to buy, it's like wow, I need to be on the ball. Have you gotten your post op diet stuff yet, if so what Protein shakes did you invest in? RaQuel Wow!!!! I thought I was the only one. It seems as if everything started moving so fast once I got approval for surgery. Pre-Op class, Pre-Op liquid diet, Pre-Op clearance. My head is just spinning. Excited and scared at the same time July 24th for me. I keep flipping between being really excited to get this done and then I catch myself thinking "OMG, are you seriously going to do this". Date can't get here soon enough so I this can stop.

Hi Brandi and Susan The wait is difficult, but looking back from the other side perspective. Loose all you can be steadfast You most likely won't miss everything u think you will. I don't. I had my sleeve at ECMC too! You get your own room which is really nice, but the NP for my doctor admitted dietary does not get it. They do full liquids by the next day and Tomato Soup ! Overall, it was wonderful there! Just wished I felt better than I do. My surgery was Monday the 14th.

Overall, it was wonderful there! Just wished I felt better than I do. My surgery was Monday the 14th. my surgery was on Friday. I was in the OR from 136pm to 705pm. I had alot of scar tissue from three c sections. I came home last night. The pain and gas is almost unbearable, but I force myself to walk and drink. My surgeon is very strict. I'm only allowed no more than 4 ounces of clear liquids per hour. I have to do that until my visit with her next Monday when I'll be 10 days out. I'm trying to keep my head up and look to the future. butrflybecca 1 Posted July 20, 2014 I'm having min the 22nd so close and just liquids no more bars today or tomorrow. Yet alas I am close so close nervous and excited. Question for some reason I can't figure out what's allowed or not allowed on the all liquid diet? I'm guessing just liquids lol.
KCHopkins 0 Posted July 21, 2014 July 29 here. Five days into my liquid pre-op diet and I'm actually doing ok with it except that I'm pretty much over the Protein Powder flavors I have now! It's hard to get them down. But I'm doing it. So excited to take this step!

I cannot believe they sent you home so quick I was in from a Monday to Thursday. Trust me it gets better, but day five really sucked. I was told I had to upgrade to the Protein Shakes and that was hard. Were you through synergy?
