smack 2 Posted June 27, 2014 Hi Everyone! I am being sleeved on july 14 official yesterday, i am so nervous and scared of the unknown. I just love food! I turned 50 this year an am at a crossroad either i stay on this path and get older and fatter or i try to help myself to become healthier. I am a hairstylist and being on my feet all day is just getting tougher and i have to work for many years to come! I also have a fourteen year old daughter that has a weight issue and I'm thinking that if she sees me get healthier it will help her too. I have considered backing out a couple of times but i have made it this far i started last year, but i will always have regrets if i where to do that! so i guess i just need some support. Some of my family members think this is just crazy but they did tell me they will support my decision. They are concerned with the long term affects. Well thats about it! Any thoughts? 1 choosinghealth reacted to this
RayJunCayJun 41 Posted June 27, 2014
@@Texas Jess Hey Jessie! I don't know of anyone who's had the plication. What made you choose that over the sleeve? Just curious. I haven't researched the plication a whole lot.
CandyPants81,I chose the Plication because the patient coordinator said that would probably be the best choice since I just needed to lose 50 lbs. the trouble I always have is keeping it off and now I have just been diagnosed with Diebetes. Like I said both sisters have bands and I'm not impressed with the outcome. I was going to do the sleeve till I talked to the coordinator. I did some reading and it seemed less invasive so I just chose that one. I'm actually still a bit on the fence about it. That will have to be your decision, but I know of a couple of people with only 30lbs to lose who got the sleeve. 1 qtpatootie2681 reacted to this

EmmaKathleen 28 Posted June 28, 2014 (edited) July 21st for me! I am self pay as well, and can't imagine a better way to spend the money. I vacillate between extreme excitement and extreme anxiety. I think that's normal though. My theory is, just take small steps towards the new happy, healthy life you want and deserve. Good luck with everything! jdillon 355 Posted June 29, 2014 July 24th for me. I keep flipping between being really excited to get this done and then I catch myself thinking "OMG, are you seriously going to do this". Date can't get here soon enough so I this can stop. Me too!

myfutureme 13 Posted June 29, 2014 (edited) I had never heard of plication before. My surgeon won't do it. It seems like a scary way to do it but to each their own. I just don't see the benefit of that vs sleeve. Edited June 29, 2014 by myfutureme

Goddardgo 90 Posted June 29, 2014 Hi all, I'm scheduled for July 24th!! First surgery of the day I am 36, wife, full time employee of a major health insurance company and mother of four awesome kids! I am SO ready to get this show on the road. I just had my 7.5 hour information class, completed all of my pre op testing and have my pre op next Tuesday the 9th. I am hoping to find some Arizona sleevers that I can pair with to maybe meet up and hang with once in a while just to keep up accountability. Anybody here?
