Looking for July Sleevers!

Recommended Posts

And let's face it, I'm thinking we all have fatty livers. Please for the sake of peace of mind I would do a week of preop and fasting the day before surgery. If anyone wants an example PM me and I can send you my preop. It is sooo worth doing and not impossible to follow

My date was changed to July 23. I'm in Bakersfield CA. I did the liquid diet one time a couple of years ago and found it was pretty easy because I got a running start at it. I started 4 weeks out instead of two and ended up a full liquid diet and lost 38 lbs. I think it was much easier that way. I plan to do the same thing again. I have already done the 3 day juice cleanse I saw online.

My doctor doesn't require a pre-op diet, but I plan on doing one myself for a week before my surgery. I agree, we all have fatty livers and that is why I'm doing it.

I haven't been through all of the posts, but is anyone interested in setting up a July sleevers group on FB? I will set up a closed group tonight so we can all run questions and ideas past each other if there is interest and one hasn't already been set up.

I just posted for the first time in another area. I actually asked if there was an FB group for July sleevers :D Tah dah, I guess that there is. I think I added myself to the group...just waiting for my confirmation!

WHOOPS, the group I found was for July 2013. Wrong year, Jen! I'll keep my eyes open for a July 2014 group.

I would love that! Thank you for taking the initiative.

I just created the FB Group "July 2014 Sleevers". It's a closed group so click join and it will add you. Then in about a week we can convert it to Secret if everyone prefers.

Thank you for doing this. I'll join after it's secret. I'm keeping my surgery private & don't want to accidentally announce it on FB.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
