I am getting sleeved on the 1st of July, from Sydney here. My next appointment will be on Monday, 16th of June which is 2 weeks before the surgery. I only took a good 4-week annual leave from work and a short 2-night holiday on the 11th of july post op so good luck to me. Yaayyy..

Hi there. I'm curious about the pre-op diet. Cant wait to get instructions from my nurse and dietitian on Monday! Is it just a pure liquid diet for the next 2 weeks prior to the procedure?

I just realized I never put my date on here ... it's on another post somewhere. I'm July 1st with pre-op June 17. I have had this date since late April! It's been a long time coming, but the sitting and waiting with nothing to do but think has not been good for me.

Good luck all!

How long is your pre-op diet? Mine officially starts on the 23rd but I'm going to start next Monday so I can ease into it a bit since it's a strict liquid diet. Not looking forward to it...

Well, my journey is also beginning. I am having my surgery in MI w/ Dr Baker. My pre-op appt is on 6/30, and my sleeve surgery is scheduled for 7/7. I would love to keep in touch & support each other's.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
