jimcy7889 0 Posted April 19, 2007 Hi, I had been planning to get the Lap-Band but now that I have been to the Doctors initial team (Doctor, Psychologist, Nutritionist) mtgs. they are leaning toward the actual By-Pass surgery. this is for reasons of co-morbidity +. But, they also, are telling me I have been misinformed on both procedures pros and cons. How do I find out the truth?:help: Thank you.
Beverly 0 Posted April 19, 2007 I'm going for the lapband surgery. And what I have learned in all my research and talking to doctors they are both great procedures. I ask my doctor last week what percentage of his pratice is Lapband? And he replied 40% is now the lap band . He said becuse people are realizing that this is the most safest way to go. And he also told me that if I had a dr ever try to talk me into the other and not listen to me it would be a mistake, because it is each individuals decision what is best for them. I hope this helps with your decision.

Why not put out a request to lap-banders in your town to tell you their experiences about seeing their surgeon and whether anyone has used the surgeon that is recommending the by-pass? Here are two resources you can look at for more information. Click here: www.bariatricedge.com Click here: http://www.lapbandsolutions.com/94829E_LB_Patient_Book.pdf Good luck!
