Help! I Need A Fill With In 300 Miles Memphis

Recommended Posts

I went to TJ Mexico and got my band. I did real well, lost 50lbs in a month. Then because of nerve damage and joint problems, I was unable to work for almost 2years and was not able to afford to go for fills. I gained back the 50 and another 50. I am finally getting back on my feet ( no pun intended) and I am ready to lose this weight. i di find someone in Cincinnati, OH, but that is an 8 hour drive. I would like to find some one closer to Memphis if possible. Any suggestions? Prices?

Thanks, Joan

I don't have the name of hospital or group but when I was looking I found one in Paducah KY . Surely there is one in Nashville Tn.

If you don't know to look on the internet pm and I will for you.

I called myself looking on the internet, but the closest I found ( and called) was a bariatric surgeon in Ohio. There was one in Nashville, but when I was able to afford the fill, he was no longer doing Mexican patients. Paducah would be great. Do you have the info? Thanks so much for the post.

I forgot to say how great you look in the pic. i can hardly wait. My grandson asked me the other day if I remembered when I went to Mexico. I told him yes. He looked me right in the eye and told me " They lied to you Grandma, you're still fat" I almost busted a gut laughing. He was soooo serious, like he was telling me something that , even though it might be hard to hear, I really should be aware of. Out of the mouth of grandkids.;)

I bet Dr. Agotee is the only one in Paducah I can think of, but I'm not sure about Mexican patients, maybe they will chime back in. I had surgery in Mexico too and there are 4 of us from Paducah that drive to Dr. Curry, who is absolutely fabulous and fills are 150.00. If you will go to his website and go to forums there is a place where we do rideshares and I'm sure if you can't find anyone here you could ride with one of us. Good luck.

I used Dr. John Lambert in Batesville, AR. I had my surgery in Monterrey, Mexico, but Dr. Lambert is doing my aftercare. He is very good. I just had a fill today!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
