bestkeptsecret 0 Posted June 7, 2014 I have had my first consoltation earlier last month, and coming up this month, I have appts. scheduled for my mental eval., nutritional specailist, & for fitness testing. I have yet to make any appts with a cardiologist, radiologist, & pulmonary dr.'s. Those last three tend to make me more nervous then they should. I'm looking for any body who has already went through those last stages before getting approved for surgery; & I'm curious about what drs will be testing, as far as my heart & lungs. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
blondiebabs 214 Posted June 7, 2014 I do not know the answers to your questions, however congrats on quitting smoking! I know from experience it is an intense battle. Kudos!
endless80 697 Posted June 7, 2014 I was just given a basic EKG for my heart, it took all of 5 minutes and for the lungs portion I had an ex ray of my lungs and they did tests with me blowing into some machine to test my lung function. I'm an ex cigarette smoker as well so I was kind of worried about what the pulmonologist (sp?) would find but he didn't find anything. Ironically, the psychologist was the hardest one for me and that's only because she had me take a 2 hour long test to see if I was bat shit cray cray, which I wasn't. lol 2 blondiebabs and melissaingr reacted to this
bestkeptsecret 0 Posted June 7, 2014 that's what I'm worried about it. I smoked for 4-5 years, nothing too crazy, but I'm hoping that my lungs look & are healthy still. thank you for all that info, I greatly appreciate it!
