jaedwards 14 Posted June 6, 2014 I have seen many people speak about slider foods. What does that mean or what are some examples?
enjoythetime 1,457 Posted June 6, 2014 (edited) Slider foods are foods that don't stay/fill your small pouch that has been created by the band, it slides right through the narrow opening between the stomach pouch and the rest of the stomach and they never give you a full statisfied feeling. In other words you could eat these all day long and still feel hungry and as you can see from the examples are unhealthy choices anyway:-) Hope this helps! Some examples are: Ice cream Cookies Cake chips Crackers popcorn candy Some people say yogurt and certain Protein bars can be sliders, but they stick with me for some reason so?? There are many many more but this gives you an idea. Edited June 6, 2014 by enjoythetime 2 betty_s and mrsto reacted to this
SandyM 1,956 Posted June 6, 2014 I agree with the above list. I also notice that somepeople say yogurt and Protein bars, but I too don't classify them as a slider food for myself. I do find that chili doesn't stick with me for long and my doctor calls chili a slider food. Another slider is cold Cereal, even though it has a crunch. I think most of your real simple carbs qualify. I even heard someone say that if you use dressings to help you get your chicken down, it makes chicken a slider food, but I don't agree as it is still a dense Protein and sends saity signals. 1 mrsto reacted to this
B-52 7,113 Posted June 6, 2014 For some reason, not exactly sure why but I do have my own ideas, but slider foods have never made a difference to me.... Even Soup, I can eat just so much and I'm finished.
