For the hair I would suggest taking Biotin supplements, You can get them at any drug store. Also I just got a coupon in ths weeks circular for a product called "Biota" It's basically a biotin infused shampoo/conditioner and comes in a serum as well.

Had decent reviews online.

Might be worth a try!

Exercise regularly. Change up what kinds of foods you're eating, (staying within your program limits). Vary your intake from day to day, (again, within limits). Eat a few carbs if you're not already. Weigh\Measure\Journal everything that goes in. Weigh yourself no more than once per week. Take your measurements, your body may be adjusting. I rarely lose inches and pounds in the same week. Take a Biotin or hair skin and nail supplement. Get 75g of Protein per day. Wash you hair less if you can, (that's hard in the summer) and keep your mitts off of it as much as possible. I lose more hair when I straighten it and put it up than if I leave it natural.

Hide the scale, follow your plan and you will get over the stall. It is that simple. Biotin has done nothing for my Hair loss, but I read here it helps hair regrowth. From 5-7 months I am losing much hair. I am hoping it stops soon. I stopped using the blow dryer and brush, and I leave it alone as much as possible. This is something we all face so you are not alone. I know it took a good 15 years to go from my present weight to my top weight, so I knew it would not fall off quickly. Keep up the good work!

I agree with Linda above...hide the scale. It's bad for your soul. Your body is trying to figure out what you just did to it. Be kind to your body - you've put it thru a lot; it will respond in kind when it's ready.

For the hair...I started losing at 2 months post-op and am still shedding a little at 6.5 months, although much less now. I lost a lot of hair. My doc said that "hair is optional according to your body", it will take care of everything else before it takes care of your hair. She also said "whatever you lose due to the surgery, will grow back". I can see new growth and that is encouraging. My doc approved me taking Biotin and Folic Acid. I use Nioxcin Shampoo 4-5 times a week. I also use a product called Toppik - it hides the really thin spots (I would have never guessed it was as good as it is - my stylist didn't even know I was using it until she shampooed and saw the thinning).

Hang in there, sweetie. You're going to be fine. Be patient and be kind to yourself!

Biotin really helps and I use nioxin Shampoo and conditioner. It's kind of expensive but it works sooooo well!! I swear by it. They recommend it for cancer patients. I hope that helps.

I had a month long stall between weeks 6 and 10 ....in fact I gained 3 pounds. And this was while I was on a medication that made me very nauseous so I could barely eat or drink. As soon as I stopped the meds I pretty much doubled my calories and fluids and BAM I lost 8 pounds the next week. So you may try changing what and how much you eat to see what happens. I did, BTW, drop a whole pant size that month even though I lost no weight. I just came out of a two weeks stall but I didn't do anything different. Actually I don't really consider this last one to be a stall. I think my weight loss is just slowed down since I'm at my doctor's goal. I only weigh once/ week, so if there's not going to be much change going forward I may switch to 1-2 times/month. My personal goal is a normal BMI (right around 150), and I'm fine if it takes a few months.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
