Lite'N'Sweet 60 Posted June 5, 2014 I got a letter from my medical insurance provider today. It wasn't the thick package with all the info I should have read up on. It was a thin envelope with one sheet of paper inside. I was nervous. Till I read it. And then I was confused. The first line reads: The Coordinated Care Department received a request to authorize the Predetermination service(s) for the patient named above. We have authorized the following service: Medical Services: Lap Place Gastr Adj Device But then it goes on to say: This authorization is a determination of medical necessity only. It applies only to the specific provider and services shown above. Authorization does NOT guarantee payment of benefits for these services. Payment depends on the member's plan on the date(s) the services are provided. So..... yes? They've approved me but they aren't guaranteeing that they'll pay? *does the RCA Dog pose* Anyone familiar with this? Should I be celebrating?
CTJohn 109 Posted June 6, 2014 Mine read the same way. They covered the whole thing. Don't worry about it

Cindysmom (Ilene) 130 Posted June 6, 2014 It says that they will pay for it. Now the Dr who will do it will have his staff tell you what you need to do. I t might take 6 months. His staff will MAKE SURE THE INS CO WILL PAY THEM. Follow all instructions.
