Hi post ops!!! I have not had the surgery yet. I had a question about food choices. I've noticed that a lot of you could only eat certain things. I am A super picky eater.... And scared that if I have the surgery that sticking to the diet will be hard. Anyone have this problem? And if so what did u do to overcome it?

you have to put your big girl panties on and eat what you need to to stay to your eating plan. if my husband can learn to live without wheat, just about anyone can learn a new way of eating.

It's a work in progress for me. I just wondered if people did certain things to help get over the pickiness. It's a scary thought to change how I have ate my entire life.

I have found I really like things I didn't care for pre-surgery, and things I used to crave and over indulge in make me nauseous. Makes it easy to stick to the new eating plan.

its scary, but scarier to remain obese (for me). i knew i was facing an early death if i didnt do something drastic very quickly. everyone here, who wants to be successful, has to change how he or she eats. very dramatically. those who are able to stick with the changes long term have success. those who dont regain and end up back where they started. its a choice. thats where the big girl panties come in. you get to make your mind up each day if you want to be successful at this or not.

my H LOVED his processed carbs and sugar more than life itself. Bagels, Cookies, pizza, Pasta, soda pop, candy, donuts, pop tarts, tortillas, burgers on buns... it was all he lived for! ... then after 10 years of doctor visits... specialists, meds, tests, allergy diets, etc... he finally made up his mind that yes, wheat was making him sick and he was going to stop eating it. its been a long struggle over the last year, but he's doing much better and doest miss everything as much as he thought he would.

if he can do it, anyone can, cause i never saw anyone so devoted to certain foods... it was like they were his best friends he needed to visit every day! look on Amazon, i bet there are some good books there on overcoming pickiness and making dietary changes.

I have not had very many foods I could not eat post op (at least not that I've found so far).. I just try to make sure to try something "new" at home in case I get sick. I'm super picky, so what I usually do for work is buy lean cuisines or smart ones or Atkins dinners. I may only eat half of it, but I know I don't hate them and won't get sick from them. I try to buy the ones that are more meat/veggie, like beef and broccoli or pot roast rather than the ones with Pasta.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
