As long as you are losing, you are winning! And even at 20 pounds from goals, I can't imagine really loving my body in a swimsuit. I've tried on a few at the mall and all I can see is redundancy and saggage. But I look kinda great in clothes now, and you DEFINITELY have THAT to look forward to a little more each passing week & month! Best wishes!

I actually tried on a pair of shorts I bought two summers ago that were so tight I only wore them once. Two months ago I couldn't zip them. Tonight I put them on and had extra room. ????????

Me too. Costumes always make me so upset. The sizing on those things never work right.

I usually get frustrated and give up or sew my own

This year I plan on trying lots of them on at the store

I've lost 40+ pounds and have been trying on swimsuits, and still can't find one that looks halfway decent on me. My legs look awful with all the cellulite. I look so much better in regular clothes, so I'm thinking I might just not get a swimsuit this year. I'm supposed to go to a WLS support group pool party in two weeks, but I'm sure they will understand...lol.

I got a couple miracle suits on sale last week, they fit great but my skin looks awful!!! I also have the cellulite and jiggles, but I think I am going to get a wrap to wear around my waist to hide that, otherwise this body is ready for some sun!!!

I'm a fan of a cute retro skirted suit. Gives a little more coverage in the leg area.

I haven't bought a suit in years but bought one a few weeks ago. We bought a house 3 minutes from the lake and felt obligated to..LOL..I tried it on and was almost teary that I looked halfway decent in it...just simple shorts and cute top. Didn't care about the looseness of my arm skin and jiggles...It was truly amazing so carry on with all the clothing that we thought would once be impossible. I have a long way to go but dammit, I now own a bathing suit...

Girl, you better go to that pool party (in that bathing suit) and live your life! We've all hidden ourselves long enough!:)

I just got a new suit and my inner thighs are so gross ????. I love the weight loss but hate the way my legs look! I have a cover up but when you're at the beach you're not waist deep when the waves aren't there lol

I realize that I will not look awesome in a suit for quite awhile as I've only lost 55lbs, so my goal is to look great in a tank and wear a pair of shorts and not have them ride up the inner thighs Everytime I step!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
