maxcimax 220 Posted June 4, 2014 Does anyone know how many carbs are allowed each day? I was sleeved on May 12th & have lost 28 lbs. I haven't lost anything for a week but I know that's not unusual so I'm not worried. I looked thru all of my info couldn't find anything concerning carb count. I have had trouble getting in my 800 calories but have done well with my Protein. I think I need to track carbs as well. Hope everyone is doing well with their sleeve. par1959 470 Posted June 4, 2014 Here is what I was told. In the process of burning fat your body turns fat back into carbos. Therfore when you are in the losing stage you dont require any carbos in your diet. Once in maintanance mode it would be a good question to ask a NUT. Bufflehead 6,358 Posted June 4, 2014 The dieticians in my surgeon's practice have us eat a minimum of 30 and maximum of 60 carbs per day. Seems like every practice varies somewhat!
LivingFree! 478 Posted June 5, 2014 Yep--there's so many different programs out there. Many do not have you worry about counting carbs until you are back to eating normal foods again, months down the road. After all--you have quite enough to be worrying about right after surgery, right??? Most eating plans for the first few months after surgery give you the right balance of everything you need and as long as you follow that, counting carbs isn't necessary. Congrats on your sleeve! jajmj 40 Posted June 16, 2014 I read on here that less than 50g a day is a good measure
