MOLLSY 17 Posted June 4, 2014 Hello. I'm now 5 days on and still on Fluid only diet. The weight seems to be stubbornly hanging on in there. I only went to the loo for the first time today (what a relief) so don't know if that will have helped. My scales are a bit odd, but I had put 2lbs on yesterday according to them. Did anyone else notice a drop after the first week or so. Just feeling a little bit wobbly today. What if I don't succeed, I have nowhere to go from here. Sorry for the whining, feeling sorry for myself today.
hrhlaurie 185 Posted June 4, 2014 I added a couple of pounds after surgery too and felt so bloated from the iv Fluid and surgery. 6 days out and the excess fluid is starting to come off but slowly. Keep walking and drinking to flush everything through you. The weight will come off, just follow the diet your doc gave you. 1 BigGirlPanties reacted to this
BigGirlPanties 957 Posted June 4, 2014 My doctor didn't want me to get on the scale after my surgery, until my next visit with him because of the fluctuations in the beginning as your body readjusts itself... don't worry, it will happen, if you are following your program. If you have a concern, contact your doctor for advise...but he'll probably just tell you to "hang in there" like we are
MOLLSY 17 Posted June 4, 2014 Thank you both for your replies ladies. I really appreciate the support. I am really up and down today, and even a bit peckish. Have stuck to my fluids though. I can see this site is going to be invaluable. Maybe I will keep away from the scales for a few days! 1 BigGirlPanties reacted to this
rome 156 Posted June 6, 2014 I'm with you.....feeling a bit defeated that the wright isn't coming off. I think when I heard the nurse say...oh it's going to start falling off quick....and it hasn't makes me feel like I'm the minority. Just have to hang in there I guess. Keep plugging away! onajournee 20 Posted June 6, 2014 I gained 10lbs Water weight in the hospital, but by a week or so post op it was all gone plus some. I remember losing almost 5lbs in 1 day. My bladder was working overtime that day!
Bigmommatojacob 54 Posted June 6, 2014 My problem is I am scared of failing also. I think we all feel that way because if your like me every diet was a big fail. Lose a pound gain two. I am sick of being ask how much you lost. I can't go anywhere without someone asking me and truthfully it's irritating. I am doing this with all these thoughts in my head of failed and trying to cheer myself on and they ask me that.
BigGirlPanties 957 Posted June 6, 2014 @Bigmommatojacob tell them "so far enough that I know I will be healthy" ...you know something generic.... you will get there....just hang in!!! Y'all just have to give it a chance to kick in.. follow the program and you will reap the rewards
AMDRN 5 Posted June 6, 2014 Hi Everyone, I am new to this website and surgery! I had the sleeve done on June 3rd of this year and have been home from the hospital 1.5 days now. I am having the HARDEST time getting anywhere near the water/calorie/protein requirements. I have zero appetite and everything seems to make me feel a little queasy. I am so afraid that there might something wrong with me. I spoke with the dietician today and she said not to get too concerned just yet. I have no energy either, but I expected that. I would love to hear from some sleeve experts as to how their first week or so went and how long it took to get enough nutrients. Thank you, Aubrey
MOLLSY 17 Posted June 7, 2014 Hello AMDRN congrats on your surgery. I also felt really queasy for a few days. This could be the anaesthetic also getting out of your system. You will feel better very soon and get right on track. Your body will move at its own pace. Good luck. Thank you to all who posted replies.
AMDRN 5 Posted June 7, 2014 Hi Mollsy, Thank you for your response! I am feeling better each day and actually was able to consume close to 60 gm of Protein today. I appreciate your feedback! Best wishes... Aubrey
is it just me 80 Posted June 8, 2014 Well I'm 7 months out and I sounded like each and every one of you........there was times I thought I didn't even have the surgery at first to the times I question if this will even work since I wasn't losing....... I thought I was a slow loser.......... This journey was/is truely a roller coaster........ There will be good and bad days, weeks, and months........ But the only advice I can give is stick with it....... And a lot of us had problems in beginning with the Water and protein.... So ur not alone....... My doc told me the water was more important to stay hydrated................ I'm down 90lbs........ About 15lbs to goal..........
