I'm out of here for my anniversary!

Recommended Posts

Looking forward to leaving tomorrow a.m. with my husband to Reno, NV to Celebrate our anniversary. I'm down 52 lbs plus my presurgery weight of 78 lbs since last year this time. Can't wait to eat lobster.

Yes - tell us how the lobster went with the band. I'm going on a cruise in a few months and I plan on eating lobster (my favorite!) and was curious on how it would do with the band.

Also, happy Anniversary - how many years?

Lobster went down fine with small bites, yummy. The butter coats it well. I also had nice shrimp salads while I was there and they went down fine. I did have a problem with the clam chouder though. It seemed that the potatoes were a little rough on the band. We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary and had a great time. We actually gambled one day from 7:30am to midnight. Thank God I won some money in between to cover the expense! We didn't want to come home! Julie

Yes congrats. My DH and I celebrated our 10th year anni. in September of 06. How is Reno? My DH and I have been wanting to go for such a long time since we have never been and we love to play poker. Would also like info on travel cost if you don't mind. I am hopeing we will go this year and want to travel cheap..lol. Any info is appreciated and glad to hear you had a fab time.

We had a blast in Reno. We love the slots. We stayed at the Silver Legacy and I think it was 79, 129, 170 for Thurs-Sun. There are other places that are less expensive such as the Sands which is 1 block from the Strip. I think you can stay there under $100 a night. When you arrive make sure you get a Silver Legacy card or wherever you gamble. We were comped every meal while we were there. We only gamble at the Silver Legacy though. Hope you have fun when you go. Its a blast. We are going back in September for Street Vibrations which is the motorcycle show. Its fun. Julie

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
