JohnC 31 Posted June 4, 2014 I've had a lot of weight loss but now have a lot of loose skin, & I understand medicare will pay for skin removal if there are rashes. Does anyone have any information on this?
BigGirlPanties 957 Posted June 4, 2014 I am not familiar...but i can tell you that EVERYTIME I go to the doctors, I report my rash problem, even tho I have it under control right now...that way, IF my insurance covers it, I am covered 2 Taoz and enjoythetime reacted to this
InfiniteButterfly 438 Posted June 4, 2014 I'm not sure how Medicare works, My CRNP said to make sure all rashes and sores are documented, because it makes it easier for the medical necessity claim. 1 BigGirlPanties reacted to this
enjoythetime 1,457 Posted June 4, 2014 Not sure how medicare works but I know in general just like with anything it needs to be documented, documented, documented. So, go to your doctor and just keep on it, if you have a rash from it be seen, if you are in pain because of it be seen, etc. Not sure what the end result will be but without this dicumentation no insurance will cover it. Good luck. 1 BigGirlPanties reacted to this

mgrand 81 Posted May 3, 2019 Does anybody else have experience with Medicare/Medicaid coverage??
TheJuice202 63 Posted July 10, 2019 I've heard it's hard for Medicaid or Medicare to cover it unless you're getting like really bad rashes or something and surgeons deem the skin removal medically necessary.
Bailey Ray 1 Posted July 25, 2019 Medicare or any insurance coverage only covers skin removal. I was told the reconstructive surgeon does not tighten muscles or assure the skin is tighten completely. The insurance only covers the Excess skin removal. 1 cowgirlcullen reacted to this
