penman53 493 Posted June 3, 2014 Climbed on the scales this morning and hit 202. That's down 185 pounds since I started my weight loss journey. I am amazed that I have this much weight. My bariatric nurse emailed me yesterday and wanted me to be on a panel for future bariatric patients to ask me questions about my success. I am so happy and feel so great. I wish everyone on the board to success in their journeys. Mark, Edmond Ok 20 PatrickinTX, blondiebabs, AngryViking and 17 others reacted to this

So many people need to hear about the success to have a better, longer, and happier life ahead. I am sure you had many health problems and I can only imagine what a better life you have now. I just read your post to my husband. He is 6'1", weighed 320, and is now 240, having lost 90 lbs. He wants to lose some more, so your story will inspire him. Go forth and have a wonderful new life!!!! Linda 1 ChristmasJanet reacted to this

penman53 493 Posted June 3, 2014 (edited) Thank you all. Yes I had many problems. My cardiologist basically told me that if I didn't get my weight under control I was a dead man. I was in congestive heart failure, stage 4 kidney failure, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes (on an insulin pump) and my vascular system in my legs caused my legs and ankles to swell and almost bleed. All of those co morbidity issues are mute now with the exception of my vascular problems. I feel fantastic and my strength is getting much better. I thank you all for the kind words and I hope that I feel better and better everyday as I feel the same way for you all also. By the way, I now have a normal BMI also!!!!! LindafromFlorida 1,542 Posted June 3, 2014 My husband has very similar problems, with a heart stent. We are 67, 68. Thank God you have added years to your life! I think the vascular problems will improve. My husband had terrible cellulitis at times, and terrible ankle swelling. We just drove from Florida to Kansas, and his ankles did not swell like balloons. Got to see your Oklahoma!
penman53 493 Posted June 3, 2014 There is a lot to see here in Oklahoma welcome. By the way I will be 61 in September. 2 LindafromFlorida and SusinMichigan reacted to this

odesa 90 Posted June 4, 2014 Hi, Thanks for sharing, that is AMAZING! I am down only 58 pounds in about 10 weeks so seeing your stats tells me that it can be done and I am sure you stayed the course for the entire 11 months. I am already seeing signs of weakness in my own desires to eat as my tummy heals and reading what you have done really helps motivate me. Keep us posted on the 1 year mark. I've seen some others post losses of about 100 pounds in around 8 months so your doing awesome! All our best, keep it up! 1 LindafromFlorida reacted to this
Amanda2014 3 Posted June 4, 2014 Wow! That is an amazing accomplishment! You give me hope. I would like to lose an additional 130#, as I am down 20 in the first month, but I was worried I might not get there. What suggestions or dos/don'ts can you suggest? I know each person is different, but you are a success story and I would love to hear more! 2 LindafromFlorida and changingmylife4ver reacted to this
