I just got a date for October 27th. I am so excited and nervous all at the same time.

I just hope that my insurance co. will approve me.

Keep your fingers crossed for.

Congratulations! Keep yourself busy over the next month so that you don't drive yourself batty waiting for Band Day. Time will fly. Let us know what you hear from your insurance company.

Amy, now's the time to start practising your Bandster habits -- drinking tons of Water (but not w/ meals), walking regularly, and getting all your old clothes sorted by size (so you'll have numerous "new" clothes to wear as you drop weight. You better start wearing anything that you like A LOT, because pretty soon you'll have to put them in the "donate" pile. Congratulations and best of luck to you!:)

Thanks you all so much. I have learned so many things from all of you. And just knowing that you all have been there and done that really makes me feel a bit more at ease.

I am going away on the 15th of Oct. The day after I get back will be the day I start my liquid diet.

I just really hope that I am approved. I don't want to have to go through the appeals process.

I was laughing about the clothing thing. I haven't been shopping in 2 years and I wear the same few outfits that I have over and over. I can't wait to get rid of them..lol

Thanks again.

Amy

Maybe we should start a clothing exchange. I'll start another thread under General Discussion!

Ok you don't have to cross all of your body parts I really do appreciate it though...lol

It sounds more painful than a game of twister.lol

The clothing exchange sounds like a great idea.

I will keep you posted on the insurance.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
