I may have cracked this nut!! I am a HUGE iced coffee fan in the summer time. I have been seeing commercials advertising those yummy beverages and have been really depressed I can't ( or should I say should not) indulge! So at home for lunch today I decided to take matters into my own hands and by George I think I've got it!!! I have a Keurig coffee maker and when I had my surgery I got a variety pack of K cup Decaf coffee. I am not a huge dark / bold roast lover so I still have a few of those floating around. I popped one into the Keurig and brewed a tall cup. To it I added some stevia, salted caramel SF Torani and skim milk. I poured over ice and I am in HEAVEN!!! It tastes almost identical to the restaurant / coffee shop ones, but without the caffeine sugar and fat!!! Now I have to actually go BUY some more decaf bold roast K cups!!! ( the bold roast allows the coffee flavor to shine thru once you add the ice- doesn't Water down the taste as much)

I go for the cream, but it always takes up a lot of calories...ah well. I need a vice, I guess. Whatever works for us coffee lovers! :)

I have been enjoying iced coffee soy latte with sugar free carmel flavoring. Very low calories. I am in HEAVEN! I just don't know if I can do without my coffee. I tried and just didn't feel right to me. (2.5 monts post op.)

Luv my homemade iced coffee.I make espresso cuz the ice waters it down. And I use REAL coffee. Always a dark roast. I add a little sf coffee Syrup and milk and yumminess...

If u put it in the blender with some frozen espresso cubes (hafta make in advance, obviously) u can put it in the blender with a little ice and whalla - a frappucino. I use frozen espresso cubes to use less ice to Water it down less.

chocolate Cappuccino Protein Shake ...one scoop (not the 2 suggested serving size), Java pro (1/2 scoop -- 1.5 is a serving), ice, almond mild, mixed in a blender. Yumm! I found java pro too strong on its own.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
