I had surgery on a Wednesday and started walking for 10 minutes 3 times a day on Monday and increased it by 5 minutes each day. Now I walk 3 miles a day and I'm 3 weeks post-op tomorrow.

I started with short walks. It took me a few months before I was up to anything more stenuous. I suggest you listen to your body and don't overdo it. Also be sure to stay hydrated.

like the others I walked -- dr told me after 6 weeks I could do any exercise I wanted. I'm 10 weeks post op and doing 3 days weight training and 3 days cardio.

I still have two more weeks of no weight training left. Right now I do at least 30 minutes of cardio at the gym (because I know if left to my own devices I will just sit on the couch and marathon Game of Thrones or something). Trying to work my way back up to about 45 minutes cardio. I like to get about 3 miles in on the elliptical, but if they are all taken I will do treadmill or recumbent bike (because the upright ones make my butt numb. lol). After the 16th I should be cleared for free weights again. Yay. I miss them, because for me weights are more interesting than cardio. Because I have to concentrate on working the muscles whereas with cardio I can just zone out and watch the attached TV.

I started doing a little bit of exercise after week 1 and by week 3 I am back in my usual workout stuff. I workout for about 45 min to an hour a day and I am almost 5 weeks post op.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
