My husband thinks I'm super woman lol. I think because he sees me doing so many other things constantly; he feels that there isn't anything I can't do. That's what he has said before anyway. I constantly juggle a chaotic life and he likes.... Chubby girls lol so to him I'm amazing!!

My pcp informed me Friday that she believes I should have the bypass instead of the sleeve. There seems to be a lot

Of people that have had success with the sleeve.... Now I'm confused on which one I should do.

My bariatric team discussed all of the options, pros and cons of each in a large group session then met individually with us at our next appointment to discuss our thoughts.

In my humble opinion, I would take the advice of the bariatric team, but do your own research to decide. I have had pcps for years who treated my thyroid issues but didn't go by the latest recommendations.

Which surgery you have is up to you and your surgeon. Bet of luck!!!

I'm glad I found people that understand!! My husband is in the military and is pretty fit. We took our children to an amusement park and we argued the whole time be use he was riding all the rides with them and I was just walking and watching.... He didn't understand that I couldn't ride the rides and I was too ashamed to tell him that was why I couldn't. If I get this surgery I will go to as many amusement parks as I can and ride every ride I can fit on!!

I may not have a husband to lie to but I do have friends who gawk over 6 flags every summer. I lie until I can't lie anymore. I said the same thing when I get the surgery I'm riding until I get sick lol

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
