Only you can make that decision. It's a big decision and It's rough in the beginning. All your food addictions come roaring forward even if you aren't hungry. So, if you are wavering, I would be damn sure before you go through with it. It is a commitment and work to get through.

I'm 8 days post-op and sick of Clear liquids (I still have 7 more days of this), but getting on the forum helps. I will chew again. I remind myself why I chose to do this and that the incisions will heal and I will have Portion Control and a new body. It's worth it to me. You have to decide if it is worth it to you.

Best of luck!

I can only speak as someone that is just starting the process. I don't expect it to be easy but when I think about being this heavy in my 40's and beyond I know I have to do this. My quality of life suffers because of my weight. I'm tired of paying more for clothes, having unflattering clothing styles and being embarrassed to take pictures.

So for me...there is no question. I seek change and I will not let fear stop me. I can only pray this will be a successful journey.

I was sleeved in 2011, since lost 100 lbs and life has not been the same since! For the first time in many years.... I'm participating in life!! It is a lifestyle change, changing life long habits, watching my portions and food intake... But I would do it all over again !! The fact that I have my health back and loving life again is a great motivational reminder for me.

Wish you all much success along your journey. Stay focused and stay positive !!

I'm 3 1/2 months out and I'm not going to lie... At times I just want to eat.. Like really eat! I was driving home one day and deciding dinner and had a break down because I just wanted to eat a plate of pancakes and not have to think about what can I eat. I used to always eat like it was my last meal and wanted to eat whatever I was craving and that's how I got to 280 lbs. but I will tell you this. That has happened a couple times... In 3 1/2 months.. All things considered that's not that much. Also date night is a very different experience but we still go eat where we want... Only now it's sooo much cheaper because I can eat some of his or get a kids meal. It's kinda awesome. I am saying all of this and it may seem like I'm talking you out of it... But here is the reality. Going to a normal store and buying a normal size is worth a million pancakes! I still eat "bad" things from time to time... I'm 63 lbs down. It's your decision but the benefits greatly outweigh the hard times!

I usually don't reply to these posts but I thought that I would on yours. I had similar feelings as surgery got closer and I am SO happy that I went through with it. I am 56 years old and started at 245. I had not been under 200 pounds in 10 years so I would be fooling myself if I said that I didn't need it. I lost 35 pounds pre-op and at 215 as I told my family they all said " don't do it". They thought that I was fine. Anyway, I did it on 4/9/14 and had absolutely no complications. Minimal discomfort and I was back to work within a week. I am now weigh 175 and I am so happy. I haven't been this low in 20 years and I feel 15 years younger. There are diet adjustments but it is so worth it. I look forward to getting to a goal weight maybe 135-140 and not being overweight. I emotionally could not do the yo-yo anymore. Good luck to you

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
