Physically Demanding Jobs

Any lap banders out there with physically demanding jobs? I am a firefighter. I wasn't always this overweight, so work wasn't a problem. I put on about 95 pounds over the past 2 years and my performance at work was definitely suffering. I was having problems with balance, flexibility and endurance. That is one of the reasons I decided to get the lap band. I told a few people at work and they expressed concern that I would suffer from weakness during the weight loss process. I told them that wouldn't be a problem and I genuinely believed that. Well...during a training session this week I was doing a task that I have done a million times (even while fat) with no problem. My arms went limp and I was too weak to finish the task. I don't get it. I'm eating better than I have in years and I'm working out 3-4 times a week. Has anybody else experienced muscle weakness? Does anybody have any tips for eating for strength? Does more Protein help?
