blab10 0 Posted June 2, 2014 Can any one reccomend some books to read about the sleeve..looking for more tips and suggestions for what to do after the surgery. My surgery is scheduled for July 7th and I would like to be as prepared as possible. I am looking for books that help with the process, what to eat, and how to maximize the sleeve and weight loss. Also, if there are any cook books out there please let me know. I have looked on Amazon and there are several...so I wasn't sure if there were a few that I really needed to read compared to others. Thanks!!
marfar7 1,533 Posted June 2, 2014 The only book I've read about the sleeve specifically (I've read a few generic WLS books) was The Sleeved Life: A Patient to Patient Guide... by Pennie Nicola. I brought my ereader (got the Nook version) everywhere with me and in my spare time would read it. Really good book. http://www.amazon.com/Sleeved-Life-Patient---Patient-Gastrectomy/dp/1475179693/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1401727173&sr=1-2&keywords=gastric+sleeve I've also heard that Alex Brechers book The Big Book on the Gastric Sleeve is excellent. Haven't read it yet, but thinking about getting it. Moved out of state about 6 mths ago and misplaced my Nook. I'm bummed. Good luck!
