Has anyone had a problem getting there surgery notes and xray?

Recommended Posts

I found a clinic that will do my fills, all I need is the surgery notes and x-ray of my stomach (didnt know one was taken-lol) Since I live in Thunder Bay and the flights to TO are costing me $$ I am able to get service in Duluth,MN which is 3.5hr away-no biggy since we tend to go there often. Has anybody ever had to do this?

I have seen others docs, the surgery notes should be easy, but have you had a fluroscope? IF you haven't I would talk to your clinic and see what it would take to get a fluro and then get a copy of the fluro (I would think it would be a CD/DVD since it is all computerized) It may cost you for the copy of the fluro since it isn't something they give away standard with a fill.

Good luck

Thanks for replying, I havent had fluro. The clinic in Duluth wants the x-ray so they know where the port is- I told them I can feel it and I have had 3 fills so I know where it is. LOL. Once things cool down at TLBC I will call them.

Then a standard x-ray should be fine, your family doc can request one for you if it is just a standard one over the fluro. But email TLBC and see what they say

Good luck, closer fills for you would be great for you.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
