cmann1299 17 Posted June 1, 2014 Today I started my 8 day pre op liquid diet. My dr has his patients doing 4 Bariatric Fusion shakes a day. Well I got 2 in today. I can not stomach the thought of another shake today. 1 Aagemini reacted to this
Catherine707 253 Posted June 2, 2014 I recommend trying different Protein shakes until you find one you like. You will be drinking a lot of them during the course of your gastric sleeve journey. I like the Premier Protein (chocolate and Strawberry) from costco. GNC has a lot of different flavors and will exchange any that you don't like the taste of. Having 60+ grams of Protein per day is important for weight loss and healing from the surgery! Good luck on your VGS journey! 1 BarntruckCutie reacted to this
Pugmadkate 61 Posted June 2, 2014 I absolutely hated the first four brands of Protein powders I tried, no way I could have had four a day! Try different brands.
mollz007 60 Posted June 2, 2014 Hang in there, the liquid diet was the hardest part for me! I had to do a week of 4 shakes a day. Do you have to do Bariatric Fusion? If not, searching for a brand you like may be a good idea. I really liked the Ensure RTD shakes suring my pre op diet. Make sure you look for the high Protein ones, there are different kinds. You can find them at most grocery stores. I also liked muscle milk. If you are looking for powders (which I prefer) than you can order samples at www.nashuanutrition.com. I like the Syntrax Nectar brand- my favorite flavors are the chocolate truffle and Cappuccino. Good luck! 1 jdillon reacted to this
ges12877 12 Posted June 2, 2014 It does get easier once you find what you like. I just finished 14 days of a liquid diet. Surgery is tomorrow. My fav shakes are: Syntrax nectar- fuzzy navel, muscle milk light- cake batter, and the Bariatric Advantage - vanilla. I added Peanut Butter and bananas sometimes if I was starving. It's gonna be worth it!! Good luck. 1 CandyPants81 reacted to this

I also like to add SF pudding mix.
