I understand the Facebook option, but unfortunately, I do not have a Facebook account. Never felt I wanted to join in that social rat race. No reason that those that do wish to follow along via that resource though. I am only one of many having surgery in June.

Not to sound stupid here, but how do you add a friend on this site. I want to keep in touch with my June friends. We will have the same timing of surgery, post op, etc. it would be great to follow each other's progress together.

Its not a stupid question. Im not sure either.

If you hover your curser over the persons user name under their profile picture, it should open a box. click the button on the bottom, to the left, that shows a picture of a head with a plus sign. If you're on an iPad/tablet, then tap (or double tap, not sure) on the persons user name and it should pen their profile page. the "add me as friend" button is on the right of the page.

I went ahead a made a Facebook page for "June 2014 Group from BP" for whomever wants to join on Facebook. I made it a closed group so we all still have the privacy to speak freely about our surgery journey. :-) https://www.facebook.com/groups/1438476693070607/

I sent request to join too, I'm in Australia but hope I can still share with you guys. I'm having rny bypass on 6th of June. It's getting closer and I'm getting nervous as heck, I've got my pre assessment with sleep doc tomorrow too.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
