Hi. Got sleeved June 11th so a little over 2 weeks out. I have stalled already. Have lost 23 lbs total with 2 week pre-op diet which I think is great. 23 lbs in 4 weeks isn't anything to be ashamed about but I am so upset at the stall already. Anyone have any suggestions. I am getting about 50 grams of Protein. Eating a lot of refried Beans at this point tho so may be too much fat. Not walking like I should either. Gonna start that soon. Good luck to everyone. Hopefully my scale will move again soon ????

Hi! Congrats on the weight loss. It may be the refried beans in part. My surgeon doesn't allow starches, including potatoes and refried beans until 6 months out. Are the beans fat free?

Thanks @ Rome, no the Beans aren't fat free. Unfortunately my Nutritionist isn't experienced with weight loss patients. She has not told me anything other than get 60 oz of Fluid and 60 grams of Protein daily. I asked her several questions about products that I had read about on these boards such as unjury Protein chicken broth and a whey Protein Drink and she had never heard of them. She hasn't given me any suggestions on what is ok to eat or drink, so have basically been reading the boards to see what I should be doing.

man that would make it hard. For my soft foods I can so cottage cheese, yogurt light ones, sugar free Jello and pudding, puréed Soups, sugar free applesauce and Protein Shakes. My dr calls it the no lumps no bumps stage. For drinks Water, Decaf tea or coffee, propel, Vitamin water zero non fat milk, soy milk. I can also use the crystal light water flavoring which helps me get down more water.

@@danaalonzo, it sounds like you are in a tough situation! I agree with zussieq7- google! I know my program's dietary guidelines are online for the public to see. Great info for all stages, I pasted the link below, which you'll probably have to cut and paste into your browser.

awesome guidelines there. I really like how they give portion sizes as well. In my book we get it gives meal ideas but yours is way more in depth.

Omg Stacie thank u!! That is awesome info. I am only 16 days out but I have already had tuna. Guess I need to go back to more liquids since that is the stage that I should be in & wait till day 23 to eat any tuna or other meat. Really appreciate u sharing that with me. I feel awesome & haven't had any issues with anything that I have eaten but indefinitely want to follow a plan. Thanks again!!!

I am almost 3 and a half weeks out; my surgery was June 4th. Based on other diets I've seen on here, I almost feel like I am eating too much. I have been eating like 2 ounces of chicken or fish for a meal. My usual day consists of a scrambled egg w/ cheese for Breakfast and then 2 oz of chicken, fish, or lean turkey lunch meat for both lunch and dinner. I haven't had any nausea or sickness from it yet...

you're welcome. That is what we are all here for. I'm on soft foods till 4 weeks out then I can add in tuna, potatoes mashed, etc. then 8 weeks out try to start normal foods.

I am the same way Amanda. I wasn't really given a plan to follow. Just told to get 60 oz of Protein so I have been eating about 2 ounces of high protein foods also. But looking at the plans on here I shouldn't be eating them yet. Haven't had nausea or any issues.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
