stacielynntate 88 Posted June 19, 2014 In reference to the gas pains, is anyone using gas ex strips, if so are they helping... I have been lucky so far no gas pains.
KrissySMD 38 Posted June 19, 2014 Movinon, I understand your being scared. It's a big deal. But now that you have the date try to be positive! The support you get here is like nothing else. We've been there. It gets better. You'll do great.
Jennifer0609 83 Posted June 19, 2014 The first week will be tough, go easy on yourself and your new tummy. I couldn't get enough liquid in for the first 5 days, then it got better. I am 10days post op. Still low energy, but getting Protein and liquids in with little problems. I used gas-x strips, they helped me
motocrash 4 Posted June 19, 2014 Well I was sleeved the 17th and I am now home. I was in intense pain just after surgery and was on a morphine pump overnight. I stopped hitting the button about midnight, and have now only been using liquid Tylenol. I could not wait to get home! Not drinking as much as I should yet, but peeing all the time. all that IV Fluid.< /p> I am trying to be aware of my fluids, and starting to push for more. amandaseiders 13 Posted June 19, 2014 I was sleeved on June 4th, the nausea was terrible for the first few days but it gets easier. I feel like deep down I expected to lose more weight than what I have so far. I'm afraid my expectations are too high. I'm also scared because I'm on the soft food stage and when I eat I still don't always feel like I get full. I'm so scared that I'm eating too much without realizing it... This whole process has been the hardest thing ever and I'm still nervous everyday.

And the girl at Wal Mart looked at me funny when I through 6-7 packages of Gas X on the counter... LOL I am motivated. Good Luck to all.................. amandaseiders 13 Posted June 19, 2014 Maybe you could call and try to get in earlier, and if it gets too bad maybe you should go to an urgent care or something just to be safe. I'm also terrified because my insurance doesn't cover anything with weight loss so I was a self pay so if anything goes wrong I am so screwed
Movinon 33 Posted June 19, 2014 I am a RN, and I can tell you those gas pains can and do radiate around to your back, between your shoulders, and sometimes as low as the middle back. Kidneys can ache with dehydration or infection, however, these are usually in conjunction with a low grade fever and other symptoms. Keep us informed and always remember pain that is unbearable and not treated by medication should be addressed asap. Good Luck 2 Jealbaroma and Sleeving it behind reacted to this
aygad 17 Posted June 19, 2014 Movinon, i do have a low grade fever but i was told that this is normal post op up to to 2 weeks, the pain is mainly where the kidneys are ... And is it normal to feel it with almost every sip then disappears, then maybe every meanwhile it hits constantly for a few hours then disappears again. I am sipping all day so i do not think it is dehydration Amandaseiders, i was a self pay too and my insurance will not cover anything related either.... Have no idea what to do... But i was told that if it is a leak, you will JUST know it is a leak... CONFUSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And worried ????????????????
